- Scientists have discovered a new species of deep-sea coral in the tropical western Pacific Ocean.
- The coral has been named Iridogorgia chewbacca after the Star Wars character Chewbacca.
- It was first observed in 2006.
- The coral grows upright and solitary on the ocean floor, similar in form to Chewbacca’s tall figure.
