Karnataka Social Boycott (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Bill, 2025, aims to criminalise social boycott practices imposed on individuals, families, or groups.
It covers boycotts enforced by caste panchayats and informal community bodies.
Any person who imposes, directs, or encourages a social boycott will be treated as an offender.
The punishment includes imprisonment up to three years, or a fine up to ₹1 lakh, or both.
The Bill provides for the appointment of a Social Boycott Prohibition Officer to support victims and ensure enforcement.
