- Scientists discovered a new edible mushroom species named Lactifluus khasianus in the pine forests of East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.
- The mushroom, known locally as Tit iongnah by the Khasi tribes.
- Lactifluus khasianus belongs to the milk cap genus Lactifluus and grows symbiotically with Khasi pine trees at 1,600 metres altitude.
