- Nearly one in five women (18.9 per cent) and one in seven men (14.8 per cent) globally experienced sexual violence before the age of 18 years.
- In India, 30.8% of girls and 13% of boys experienced sexual abuse before 18.
- This is the Highest prevalence for girls in South Asia.
- The US estimates being 27.5 per cent for women and 16.1 per cent for men; UK estimates being 24.4 per cent for women and 16.5 per cent for men.
