The Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal’s tenure has been extended by one year from August 16, 2025.
Constituted in November 2010, the tribunal adjudicates water sharing disputes among Goa, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.
The tribunal has the third-longest tenure among the four active water disputes tribunals in India.
The extension follows a request by the tribunal to extend its timeline to submit a further report after objections from the three states on its 2018 decision.
