The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) marked the 20th anniversary of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.
This Convention was adopted on 23 February 2006 in Geneva.
It is known as the Seafarers’ Bill of Rights.
It sets minimum standards for wages, working hours, accommodation and medical care for seafarers.
It ensures inspection by Flag State and Port State authorities for compliance.
