Megalithic Burial Site - Kadamakuttai

A Megalithic burial complex with several dolmens and cist burials was discovered at Kadamakuttai village in Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu.
The site is significant because its enclosing structural wall is still visible, and the burial monuments are arranged in a planned layout.
Several Neolithic artefacts, including polished stone celts, soapstone objects, grinding stones and other stone tools, were found around the site.
A large natural boulder with three Neolithic polishing grooves was found, indicating stone-tool finishing and processing activities.
The site also has clay figurines, rubbing stones and fragments of urn burials, along with an isolated dolmen outside the main enclosure.
Krishnagiri district has more than 200 documented Megalithic burial sites, while Kadamakuttai shows a cultural sequence from the Neolithic period to the present.
