- The Defence Ministry has approved the grant of ‘Miniratna’ status Category-I for
- The Munitions India Limited (MIL),
- The Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), and
- India Optel Limited (IOL).
- The Miniratna scheme was initiated in the year 1997.
- The qualification for the designation of Miniratna status
- Must have achieved profitability in the last three consecutive years.
- Need to demonstrate a pre-tax profit of Rs.30 crores or more in at least one of the three years.
- Must maintain a positive net worth.
