- The Monsoon Session of Parliament in 2025 is likely to be held from July 21 to August 12.
- The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed this to the media.
- The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has recommended the dates.
- It had sent a recommendation to President that Parliament be summoned on the dates cleared by the committee.
- Normally the dates for a Parliament session are announced a few days in advance.
- Never have the dates been declared 47 days before a session is due.
- The government had in the past 11 years often called the monsoon session on two to three weeks’ notice.
- And this was the first time that they have announced it a month-and-a-half before hand.
