  • The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released National Accounts Statistics 2026 with 2022-23 as the base year.
  • The publication contains 64 statements covering Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Gross Value Added (GVA), national income, consumption, savings, capital formation, public sector and external transactions.
  • It includes updated Final Estimates for 2022-23 and 2023-24, First Revised Estimates for 2024-25, and Provisional Estimates for 2025-26, along with quarterly GDP estimates.
  • The estimates were revised using the new Producer Price Index (PPI), Index of Industrial Production (IIP) and Banking Services Price Index (BkSPI), all with the 2022-23 base year, along with updated administrative data.
  • Updated indicators caused revisions in GDP and GVA estimates from 2022-23 onwards, with larger changes in sectors such as mining, manufacturing, trade services and public administration.
  • Under the updated estimates, real GDP growth for 2025-26 increased from 7.7% to 7.8%, while current-price GDP growth was revised from 8.9% to 8.6%.
