- The day is observed on the 4th Sunday of November.
- The day aims to build discipline, leadership, and patriotism among the youth of India.
- It marked the 78th anniversary of the NCC, which was officially established on 15 June 1948.
- NCC works under the Ministry of Defence with the motto “Unity and Discipline.”
- NCC began with 20,000 cadets in 1948 and has grown to 20 lakh cadets across 713 districts.
- The NCC flag has Red (Indian Army), Deep Blue (Indian Navy), and Light Blue (Indian Air Force) colours with the NCC crest in the centre.
