- This day commemorates the presidential assent to the Consumer Protection Act, 1986.
- The Act lists 6 basic consumer rights and five responsibilities that every consumer must follow.
- The Consumer Protection Act was updated three times in 1991, 1993 and 2002.
- Then the Consumer Protection Act 2019 replaced the Consumer Protection Act of 1986 in July 2020.
- The theme for 2025 is “Efficient and Speedy Disposal through Digital Justice.”
