National Flag Day 2026 - July 22

It is observed to commemorate the adoption of the Tiranga (National Flag of India) by the Constituent Assembly on 22 July 1947.
The present National Flag features three horizontal bands—India Saffron, White, and India Green—with a 24-spoke Ashoka Chakra in navy blue at the centre.
The Ashoka Chakra replaced the Charkha (spinning wheel) in the national flag adopted in 1947.
The Flag Code of India came into effect on 26 January 2002 and was amended in 2021 and 2022 to regulate the display and use of the National Flag.
The National Flag symbolises India's unity, sovereignty, freedom, democracy, and constitutional values.
