- The Union government has now revamped the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB).
- It also appointed the former RAW chief Alok Joshi as its new head, along with six other members.
- The NSAB is a seven-member apex body that provides inputs to the National Security Council Secretariat.
- This reconstituting decision was taken by the Cabinet Committee on Security chaired by Prime Minister of India.
- This effectively sees half (8) of the 16 member-board reconstituted.
