The central government has launched the NAVYA (Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls) in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh.
It aims to provide the vocational training to girls aged 16 to 18 years who have completed at least Class 10.
The focus is on training girls in non-traditional job roles to open up new career opportunities.
NAVYA supports the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 by promoting the women-led development.
It is a joint pilot initiative by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
The scheme will cover 27 districts across the 19 states, including the Aspirational Districts and areas in the North-Eastern region.
