October 16 , 2025 17 hrs 0 min 7 0
  • Caltech has developed the world’s largest neutral-atom qubit array with 6,100 qubits, advancing towards error correction and large-scale quantum computing.
  • A qubit is the fundamental unit of quantum information, acting as the quantum counterpart to a classical bit.
  • The concept of the qubit was introduced by American theoretical physicist Benjamin Schumacher.
  • Qubits are built using quantum particles like electrons, photons, trapped ions, atoms, and superconducting circuits.
