New Digital Push for India’s Ports and Shipping

  • The Centre has launched new digital projects to improve India’s maritime sector.
  • Key projects include
    • SAGAR SETU- Seamless Administration for Growth and Access to Ports - System for Efficient Transport and Trade Unification,
    • Digital Centre of Excellence (DCoE),
    • DRISHTI Framework, and
    • Scale of Rates (SOR).
  • These initiatives aim to modernize the ports and make shipping more efficient and sustainable.
  • DCoE uses Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and the Blockchain to create smart and green port operations.
  • SAGAR SETU connects over 80 ports and 40 stakeholders for faster, paperless Export-Import (EXIM) processes.
  • DRISHTI tracks progress on Maritime India Vision 2030 projects in real time.
  • The SOR template standardizes the port tariffs to increase transparency and boost investor confidence.
  • All efforts align with the Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 goals.
