New GDP, CPI, and IIP Series

- The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) announced a revision of the base year for key economic indicators.
- Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Index of Industrial Production (IIP) will have a new base year of 2022-23, while the Consumer Price Index (CPI) base year is revised to 2024.
- The updated series are scheduled for release as follows: CPI – 12 February 2026, GDP – 27 February 2026, IIP – 28 May 2026.
- The revision aims to improve the accuracy, transparency, relevance, and international comparability of India’s official statistics.
