- The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has enforced new Unified Payments Interface (UPI) rules from 1 August 2025.
- Balance enquiry is now limited to 50 times per day to reduce the server load and prevent misuse.
- Linked bank account details can be viewed only 25 times daily to enhance data safety.
- Auto-payments such as subscriptions and bills will be processed only before 10 AM, between 1 to 5 PM or after 9:30 PM.
- Users can check pending transaction status only three times with a 90-second gap between attempts.
- The recipient’s name and transaction ID will be displayed before the payment confirmation to prevent fraud and accidental transfers.
