- The Department of Seed Certification and Organic Certification has mend the new varieties of pulses seeds procured from Kanpur research institute.
- It aims to encourage farmers to take up green gram and black gram cultivation, without the fear of yellow mosaic virus attacks.
- The green gram variety, LGG 600, has come up well and reached the flowering stage on the 28th day with uniform growth.
- A black gram variety, Kota 5, was found disease-resistant.
