NIRF 2025 SDG Ranking

The latest official National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) ranking places Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras first, followed by Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI).
The SDG category was introduced in NIRF 2025, increasing the total ranking categories from 16 to 17.
It evaluates energy efficiency, water management, waste disposal, SDG-related research, community outreach, and social inclusion.
The ranking covers institutions’ contributions to all 17 SDGs under the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
