- Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have jointly announced the discovery of oil in the North Wafra Wara-Burgan field, part of the neutral zone between the two countries.
- This marks the very first discovery since the resumption of production operations in the Partitioned Zone and its adjacent offshore area in mid-2020.
- The neutral zone is also called the Partitioned Zone.
- It is a 5,770 sq km area between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait where both countries share equal rights to oil.
