- Sagar Maitri-5 stands for Marine & Allied Interdisciplinary Training and Research Initiative, promoting ocean research cooperation.
- The program involves eight Indian Ocean Rim (IOR) countries, including Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Myanmar.
