- The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have released the 21st edition of the report.
- By 2034, only 40 per cent of the world’s cereal production will be consumed very directly by humans.
- A growing share of 27 per cent will be diverted to biofuel and industrial uses.
- Biofuel demand is projected to grow at 0.9% annually, led by India, Brazil and Indonesia.
- Cotton’s Global use was increased, and India is set to overtake China as the top producer.
