- The Union Environment Ministry’s expert committee has recommended environmental clearance for the 2,220 MW Oju hydroelectric project.
- It is planned on the Subansiri river in Taksing, near the China border.
- The project is the largest in capacity among hydroelectric projects in the Subansiri basin.
- It is located 5 km downstream of Redi village in Upper Subansiri district.
