  • India has approved its first Private Point-in-Space (PinS) Instrument Approach Procedure for helicopter operations at Undavalli Heliport, Andhra Pradesh.
  • The procedure was developed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
  • Point-in-Space (PinS) is a satellite-based instrument approach procedure that enables helicopters to land safely and precisely without conventional instrument landing systems.
  • It uses Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) and satellite navigation technology to improve flight safety and operational efficiency.
  • The system follows standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and DGCA regulations.
