India has approved its first Private Point-in-Space (PinS) Instrument Approach Procedure for helicopter operations at Undavalli Heliport, Andhra Pradesh.
The procedure was developed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Point-in-Space (PinS) is a satellite-based instrument approach procedure that enables helicopters to land safely and precisely without conventional instrument landing systems.
It uses Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) and satellite navigation technology to improve flight safety and operational efficiency.
The system follows standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and DGCA regulations.
