PM Modi’s Indonesia Visit 2026

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Indonesia and was conferred the country’s highest civilian honour, the ‘Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia’.
  • During the visit, India and Indonesia announced around 20 outcomes covering defence, trade, education, culture, technology, and maritime cooperation.
  • India and Indonesia expanded defence cooperation, including collaboration on BrahMos supersonic missile systems.
  • Indian Institute of Management Bangalore announced plans to establish its first overseas campus in Indonesia.
  • India will support the conservation of the ancient Prambanan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • PM Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Indonesian Parliament.
  • The visit further strengthened the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Indonesia, established in 2018.
  • With this award, PM Modi’s tally of international honours increased to 35 global awards and recognitions.
