- The NATO Pipeline System is a 10,000-kilometre network supplying fuel and lubricants for military operations across Europe.
- During the Cold War, Poland was part of the Warsaw Pact, so NATO pipelines did not reach its bases near Russia and Belarus.
- Poland plans to build a 300-kilometre pipeline from Germany to its military base in Bydgoszcz, home to NATO’s joint force training centre.
