- The Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) has launched the second indigenously designed Pollution Control Vessel (PCV), Samudra Prachet, at Goa.
- Samudra Prachet follows the first PCV, Samudra Pratap, launched in August 2024.
- It has two side-sweeping arms for oil spill collection, modern radar for detecting oil slicks, and equipment to pump, analyse, separate, and store recovered oil onboard.
- The vessel was fully designed and built in-house by GSL, with 72% indigenous content.
