The Government of Maharashtra launched Project Mahadeva to find and train boys and girls under 13 years of age in football.
The selection was done through district-level, regional and state-level trials across Maharashtra.
A total of 30 boys and 30 girls were chosen, and each will receive a full five-year scholarship that includes coaching, academics, nutrition, fitness and training support.
As part of the programme, all 60 selected players will train with football legend Lionel Messi at the GOAT Football Clinic in Mumbai.
The scheme aims to build a strong grassroots football system by supporting young talent in a long-term manner.
