- Tamil Nadu recorded 23.3 cm of rainfall in October, which is 36% above the normal level of 17.1 cm.
- Chennai’s Nungambakkam weather station registered 32.4 cm of rainfall, the second-highest October total of the decade.
- In October 2024, the State received 21.4 cm of rainfall, which was 25% above average.
- The Northeast (NE) monsoon remained active throughout most of October, bringing rainfall almost daily.
- The State has already received nearly half of its NE monsoon quota during October.
