- For the first time, recorded the presence of Beddome’s cat skink (Ristella beddomii) at the Aralam and Kottiyoor Wildlife sanctuaries.
- The survey also reconfirmed the presence of the Kottiyoor Day Gecko (Cnemaspis Kottiyoorensis) after decades of being unreported.
- It is a critically endangered species earlier discovered in 2014.
- Six previously unrecorded agamid lizards, four skinks and five geckos were documented recently.
