RBI’s concessional swap facility attracted over $40.8 billion foreign exchange (forex) inflows by July 31, 2026.
The facility was launched on June 5, 2026, to encourage foreign currency inflows and support domestic liquidity.
Foreign Currency Non-Resident (Bank) [FCNR(B)] deposits contributed the highest share with $36.725 billion, followed by Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs) and External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs).
The scheme aims to strengthen forex reserves, stabilise the Indian rupee, and improve foreign currency liquidity amid global economic pressures.
FCNR(B) swap window will remain open until September 30, 2026, while the OFCB and ECB facility continues until December 31, 2026.
