Renovation of Tripura Sundari Temple

PM of India inaugurated the redeveloped 524-year-old Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Tripura.
It is redeveloped under the PRASHAD scheme with over ₹54 crore investment.
The redevelopment was funded jointly by the Central government (₹34.43 crore) and the Tripura state government (₹17.61 crore).
The temple was built in 1501 by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya.
It features Bengali Ek-Ratna architecture and houses black stone idols of Goddess Tripura Sundari and Goddess Chandi.
The temple’s famous prasad, Matabari Peda, recently received a prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) tag.
