- Raman Research Institute (RRI) has developed a new technique to measure cold atoms without disturbing them.
- The new method is called Raman Driven Spin Noise Spectroscopy (RDSNS).
- It measures the density of cold atoms in real time without changing their quantum state.
- The technique increases the signal strength by nearly one million times.
- It was tested on potassium atoms kept in a Magneto-Optical Trap (MOT).
