Pakistan attempted to engage a number of the military targets in Northern and Western India using drones and missiles.
These were neutralised by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and the Air Defence system S-400.
This Russian developed long-range surface-to-air missile system is known as ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ in India.
It is among the most advanced air defence systems in the world.
It is capable of detecting, tracking, and engaging the variety of aerial threats including drones, stealth aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.
The S-400 can engage aerial threats at ranges up to 400 km and altitudes up to 30 km.
The system can track over 100 targets simultaneously and is mounted on mobile launchers for rapid repositioning.
Russia, China, Turkiye, Algeria, Belarus and Syria are the other users of S-400.
