- The ‘Index on Women Safety (NARI) 2025’ surveyed 12,770 women across 31 cities in India.
- Four Northeastern cities, Kohima (82.9%), Aizawl (70.6%), Gangtok (70.4%), and Itanagar (70.4%), ranked among the top seven safest cities.
- Other top cities include Visakhapatnam (72.7%), Bhubaneswar (70.9%), and Mumbai (70.2%).
- The lowest-ranked cities for women’s safety are Ranchi (56.3%), Srinagar (58.1%), Kolkata (58.2%), Delhi (58.5%), Faridabad (58.7%), Patna (59%), and Jaipur (59.1%).
- Mumbai is the only metropolitan city among the top seven safest, while Delhi and Kolkata are in the bottom seven.
