- The Union Minister Jitendra Singh inaugurated the Polar Bhavan and Sagar Bhavan at the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, Goa.
- These are two first-of its-kind facilities in India and among the very few in the world.
- It comes under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
- Polar Bhavan will eventually serve as the home of India’s first Polar and Ocean Museum.
