- Assam launched the programme to honour military veterans above 90 years, Veer Naris, and Veer Mothers on Armed Forces Flag Day.
- District administrations and sainik welfare offices will conduct annual home visits to recognise the service of veterans and address their welfare needs.
- Assam has approximately 41,968 ex-servicemen and 10,361 Veer Naris supported under its veteran welfare network.
- The state received national commendation in September 2025 for its effective welfare mechanisms for ex-servicemen and their families.
