- The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has scaled up the Sanchar Mitra Scheme from a pilot to a national programme.
- Student volunteers called Sanchar Mitras will raise awareness on digital safety, cyber fraud, electromagnetic radiation and responsible mobile usage.
- The Volunteers will be trained by National Communications Academy Technology (NCAT) and the Media Wing of DoT in the advanced telecom fields like fifth-generation, generation artificial intelligence and cyber security.
