- The forest hosts tribal communities such as the Ho, Munda, and Uraon, whose rights will remain unaffected.
- The area contains 26% of India’s iron ore reserves, but no mining exists in the newly notified sanctuary.
- Mining within the sanctuary and within one kilometre of its boundary is prohibited.
