- The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) launched seven nitrosamine impurity reference standards for the first time.
- The standards will help laboratories accurately detect and measure nitrosamine impurities in medicines.
- Nitrosamines are harmful compounds that may form during the manufacture, storage or packaging of medicines.
- These standards will improve pharmaceutical testing, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- IPC also held its first interactive meeting with the Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL), Kolkata, on drug quality and pharmacopoeial standards.
