- The SHINE Scheme was launched on the 79th Foundation Day of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in New Delhi.
- SHINE stands for Standards Help Inform & Nurture Empowered Women.
- It is a new scheme of BIS to place women at the centre of India’s quality journey.
- The scheme provides training and awareness through Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
- It spreads knowledge about standards, safety and quality in households and communities.
