- Cloud 9 is located about 14 million light-years away from Earth.
- It is a Reionisation-Limited HI Cloud (RELHIC), made mainly of neutral hydrogen and dark matter.
- The cloud has no stars and is called a “failed galaxy”.
- It contains hydrogen equal to one million times the Sun’s mass and is surrounded by a dark matter halo of about five billion solar masses.
