- The Tamil Nadu government has reconstituted the State Consumer Protection Council with the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies as its chairperson.
- There are 22 members in the panel, including elected representatives Vellore MP D.M. Kathir Anand, Thanjavur MP S. Murasoli, Tambaram MLA S.R. Raja and Vikravandi MLA Anniyur Siva.
