- The Kerala government launched the Sthree Suraksha Scheme to provide financial support to unemployed women and transwomen from economically weaker sections.
- It provides a monthly pension of ₹1,000 through direct bank transfer.
- Women aged 35 to 60 years who are not receiving other social welfare pensions are eligible.
- The first instalment was credited to over 10.18 lakh beneficiaries.
