The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has released Supply and Use Tables (SUT) for 2020-21 and 2021-22.
SUT integrates production income and expenditure approaches to GDP in a unified framework, improving consistency of estimates.
The tables cover 140 products and 66 industries based on data from the National Accounts Statistics 2024 and surveys like the Annual Survey of Industries.
Total supply of goods and services at purchasers’ prices was 407.52 lakh crore rupees in 2020-21 and 523.08 lakh crore rupees in 2021-22.
Services had contributed about 55 per cent of supply while manufacturing goods accounted for 30 to 33 per cent in both years.
The Highest value addition industries include Ownership of Dwellings, Fishing, Aquaculture, Forestry, Agriculture and Education.
Construction accounted for the largest share of intermediate consumption at over 13 per cent in both years.
Goods made up around 70 per cent of intermediate consumption and 59 to 62 per cent of private final consumption expenditure.
