Madhya Pradesh became the first State to offer free registration of rural properties under the Swamitva Adhikar Abhilekh Nispadan Evam Panjiyan Yojana-2026.
The scheme covers around 50 lakh rural properties and aims to provide ownership records to rural residents.
The scheme was launched in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
Free registration is being carried out across more than 23,000 villages.
The initiative is linked to the SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme, which uses technology for rural property mapping and property records.
