Tamil Nadu New Assembly–Secretariat Complex

Tamil Nadu government gave in-principle approval to construct a new Assembly–Secretariat complex at Pattinapakkam (Foreshore Estate), Chennai.
The complex will be built on 25.55 acres of land under the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Greater Chennai Corporation and Revenue Department.
The proposed complex will cover about 20 lakh sq. ft. and is estimated to cost ₹1,200 crore.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has been directed to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) within three months.
At present, the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and Secretariat function from the historic Fort St. George campus.
