- Tamil Nadu has released the State Indicator Framework (SIF) 2.0 to track progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
- The framework reduces indicators from 314 to 244 across 17 SDGs and is monitored by 28 State departments.
- Tamil Nadu’s multidimensional poverty rate is 2.2%, compared to 33.76% in Bihar and 22.93% in Uttar Pradesh, as per NITI Aayog.
- The State has an under-five mortality rate of 13 per 1,000 live births and 99.98% institutional deliveries.
- Tamil Nadu ranks second in the SDG India Index 2023–24 with a score of 78.
- SIF 2.0 is aligned with the UN Global Indicator Framework and India’s National Indicator Framework (2025).
